Default Off topic- tree rings

A cool marriage of nature and technology that woodworkers might enjoy. I think Dino would like this..with his interest in poetry and the arts...

Note- I looked for an off topic forum, and nothing really seemed appropriate, so please move or delete as appropriate.

Default whale in the tree

left me...speechless!!!!!
I have to send a link to Spiro Cardamis.
Thanks for the link.

Many years ago I lost a 50.000 sq.feet hardwood dimensional a fire.
Largest fire in Edison NJ after the pipeline explosion.

The machines and the wood lost at the fire was way over 5M loss.
Only one thing stayed in my mind after all the loss.
One piece of wood with a perfect whale inside the wood.
Even the sap of the wood, the shape and the rings around the whale
was so beautifully designed over 100? years that I protected the piece and saved it for so many years...only to see the whale trying to come out of the wood. That was caused by the drying of the wood and at the end
I had a 3d whale and surrounded by 3d waves get the idea.

It was the first piece that I tried to find and save when I was allowed to
take inventory and pictures...4-5 days later.
Yes.the factory was burning for 3 days straight.
nothing left except the memory of the whale in the tree.
