Some of my videos will no longer be available to view. Some vultures have started laying claim to the copyright of the music on some of may videos, and have actually won some of those claims, so rather than allow them to gain from their evil ways, I am making them unavailable.
This is a long story, so you can stop now if you don't care. Youtube allows copyright holders to claim a violation of a copyright and if their claim is upheld, they take monies that ads on said videos earn. There are vultures that lay claim to supposed violations (sometimes based of just a few seconds of audio) on the part of supposed "clients" copyrights. In the past when I could actually make a little off of the ads on those videos, all the claims were denied (all of my music is generated by Sony Cinescore Studio, and therefore covered by their license). Now that I can no longer earn (since I don't have enough views, another whole story) from the ads, there has been a huge resurgence of claims, a few of which have been judged valid. I refuse to let them gain from this, so I take those out of public viewing status. If I have the time, I'll remove the audio and make them public again. I hate to do this, but I will not aid and abet such crooks.

Dik,
Very sorry to hear this. I hate to see someone do a noble deed to help others being diminished because of nasty people's corruption. We all lose again because of the parasites. WE appreciate you and the work that you have done! Jim |

Dik, your videos have been so helpful over the years. Thank you for the work you did on them. Youtube is such a mixed bag these days. Sorry you have had to spend your precious time dealing with scoundrels!

Thank you Katie. If I can not delete the audio, not sure what I'll do next.

Dik,
Yep, YT has been going through changes. I’ve got one vid of mine with a song, but I’m not set for any income and while noted, they have left me alone. The only way to remove the music is to have your original file, drop or overvoice the area, then post as a new vid. PITA.

Assuming you no longer have the originals, you can get audio-free versions of the videos to repost pretty quickly like this:
1. Copy the video's URL 2. Go to savethevideo dot com 3. Paste it into the bar near top and press the green button 4. Go down the page of resulting links to the "video only" options and choose the .mp4 version at highest resolution. This will open a page with the video playing. 5.Right-click it and choose "Save Video As" then name the video appropriately, making sure to give it an .mp4 suffix. Now you can upload it back to YT as a new video and be leech free. Just open two windows and copy over the pertinents as needed from the old post before deleting it. I've just tested it, and it once you've got it down you could probably download two or three a minute. Reposting will definitely be the bigger time drain. I've found your videos useful over the years, as have many, so I hope you can find the time for it. Thanks, either way. |
