Default Help ID Makita saw

I was able to make some trades and end up with an older makita saw.

There is no model number plate to be found, but here are some photos.

I need to pick up a decent blade for this saw, and try to attach it to an already used once base plate that I removed from the Skil before getting rid of it.

There a a lot of blade choices. I like a 36 to 40 ATB for general purposes though it might be overkill for some.

Reusing/refitting your saw base on a different saw seems like it might be tricky to line up the saw. Also, the zero clearance insert might need to be replaced.

If you're already having accuracy issues, putting a used base on an old saw might compound your problems but I suppose it could be done carefully.

one thought came to mind. If I put the same blade on the saw, and the off track zero clearnace on there to index on the blade... But I assume there is a designated "make the blade this far from some specific reference point".

On the other hand, I was thinking that perhaps I can index off of the side, and simply build up spacing or something.
