Default What's going on at EZ?

Was sort of wondering if anyone knows what EZ is up to. Forum has no input from them. Checked Facebook and Twitter, they aren't active.
Is Laney still involved? Saw one of his youtube videos from 11/14, EZ is not mentioned as a sponsor and Laney's using a TS for cuts EZ would easily do.
IMO even after all the years that Dino and EZ had been working they were still just getting started. There is still a lot left to be developed. At least from outward appearances there is nothing happening now.

I think Laney is still there, I got an answer from him to an e-mail about the forum not being available last week.
Have fun...

EZ has made a big entry into Rockler and Woodcraft. Rockler has featured EZ as a new product in recent email a couple days ago. There is going to be involvement in trade shows but no details at this time. Laney is still with EZ and is heading up new product videos (currently planning on videos for every main product), trade shows, and working with vendors such as Rockler and Woodcraft. There is a new general manager at the Florida facility as Laney has taken on these expanded roles. Dino is still involved with product development but I haven't been able to touch base with him in a couple months. There has been a decrease in forum involvement but I do not have an explanation for that though I do know that they are keeping up with what is going on in the forum. Regarding Laney's videos for A Simple Design of Ocala, that is separate from EZ and EZ is not currently a sponsor of that venture of his. However, he has used the Clamping Bench in his Picnic Table project videos. He has quite the following among traditional woodworkers, thus the use of the table saw. However, some EZ centric project videos would be really cool.

From my last conversation with Laney a few weeks ago there is much going on behind the scenes regarding new products, product updates, and expanding visibility in the woodworking market. It is shaping up to be a good year for 2015 from what I know and have been told. I am still working with them on product instructions, design, and illustrations.

I have had a EZ-smart track for some time (maybe7-8 years) and try to check-in from time to time to see what is happening. I have seen that Dino has stepped back and there is mention of "new management." However, everything is very vague. Was EZ sold? Who's running the show?

Default Dino back in NJ?

Sent an inquiry to Eurekazone about ordering upgrade pieces for my EZOne and in the reply, they said Dino is back in NJ. Did he leave them? I thought Dino was sick of the winters up here.

EZ was not sold but is now a partnership which has put EZ in a good position for the future. Dino is still involved but has stepped back from the front lines to concentrate on what he does best, inventing. Laney has become the "new face" of EZ so to speak since all new videos have and will feature him. The forum has really become more of a place for users to share their thoughts, ideas, and projects and is less of a customer service site. The forum technically is not owned or run by Eurekazone. I don't know what plans are in in the works for a customer service forum/site at this time. A lot of focus right now is probably in getting the new General Manager up to speed with the production facility while Laney transitions from General Manager to his new job as the product and customer support specialist.

A few days ago I saw that Laney is now a sales person for a CNC outfit. So, what is going on with personnel at the Zone? And what new products and/or applications are in the works?

I'll put in a plug for hiring some technical writing folks to improve the instructions.

The more complex products (EZ One) still need improved step-by-step assembly instructions, and all of them need application how-to's (Repeaters).

Laney's EZ One video instructions are awesome, but it still needs to be well written on paper for those actually doing the assembly.

They need to be able to clearly answer "Why should I buy the EZ product instead of a table saw or a miter saw or a router table". It probably gets old for them, but that is what perspective buyers are thinking.

OK Dino,

I'll admit you guys have come a VERY long way along those lines.

Consider my words "eaten" with respect to the instructions.
