Default New clamps

Maybe it's just me being oblivious but I just noticed that the the EZ website has a new clamp style that replaces the original EZ Smart clamp. Look a little different but the same idea and, likely, function. Nice to see they came up with a replacement

Agreed! Nice to see them back. I think they are cutting the part that has a slightly different appearance on a cnc machine. I think I saw that somewhere or my dementia is kicking in.....

anyway...Dino, the clamps are advertised as "Use Four (4) clamps and cut anywhere. The Smart Clamps become a "mini table".... question. Are the new clamps the same dimension (height) as the old standard clamps? I already have 2 old ones. if I were to get 2 of the new style would they work with the old ones to form the "mini table" on the go? If they are not the same height, then I guess the user could put the two taller ones on same side of the track and cut "uphill"?

thanks,
Jim

the description

A strange looking clamp designed to be used on the ez tracks and not only.
Stays put while moving the guide rail around.
Oversize T-Nut Knob makes it easy to adjust with one finger.
Stays perfectly straight while sliding the clamp on the EZ dovetail channels.
After adjusting for the thickness of the materials you can slide the clamp in and out without even adjusting the knob.
Use Four (4) clamps and cut anywhere. The Smart Clamps become a "mini table"
Easily Up-gradable to a complete Smart Clamping System by buying only the Smart Clamping System Upgrade.
Rotates and works at 360 degree by removing the spring and small tube.
One of the most favorite EZ Tools.
Back by popular demand and now even better.

The best feature is the slide in and out without using the knobs every time.

I'd think worst case is that you would just have to hacksaw the studs of one pair off to match the length of the other pair.

Jimes,
best to get the smart clamping system upgrade if you do very narrow strips.
If not, 2 more clamps are fine.
yes, the size is the same.

thx
